A broken tram becomes the last fragile shelter in a hostile, rain-soaked nightmare where even your closest teammate may be a predator wearing a familiar face. MIMESIS is an online co-op horror game built around paranoia, voice chat, and the unnerving possibility that an enemy has copied someone in your group perfectly. Its monsters do more than chase players through dark environments: the titular mimics reproduce voices, habits, and remembered details, turning ordinary conversation into a survival tool and a potential trap. The mood is tense rather than action-heavy, with every reunion carrying the fear that the person answering you is not the person you expected.

Each match centers on scavenging the surrounding area for useful scrap and bringing it back to repair an aging tram before the situation collapses. Players need to coordinate searches, manage sudden threats, and make quick decisions when cursed rain or roaming creatures turn a routine supply run into a disaster. A working microphone is central to the design, since listening closely to allies and responding naturally can expose—or conceal—a mimic; headphones make those interactions considerably more effective. Cooperation keeps the team alive, but blind cooperation can be fatal, creating a social-deduction layer without pausing the survival-horror pressure for formal voting rounds.

What separates MIMESIS from standard monster-survival co-op is how directly it weaponizes the group’s own communication. Rather than merely hiding an impostor among players, it makes AI threats capable of performing the role of a friend, so knowledge gained during a run can be used against the team. Unpredictable conditions and changing dangers give repeated sessions a different rhythm, especially with a regular group willing to role-play the uncertainty and communicate constantly. Fans of Lethal Company’s cooperative panic, Phasmophobia’s reliance on voice and atmosphere, or The Thing-style distrust should find plenty to like, while solo players and groups unwilling to use microphones should look elsewhere.
