Game Overview
Mix Universe is a musical sandbox game where you play as a Mixonaut adding beautiful vibes to the universe.
Everything you hear and see is 100% real-time and editable in-game. It is designed with beginners in mind with tutorials and automatic vibe nodes to help make it so you don’t need to know anything about music to have fun. For those who want to push it a bit further, you can edit each note, scale, and FX to get a node to sound exactly how you’d like.
DISCLAIMER: Mix Universe is NOT a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) and also is not intended to be used for live performances. I view it as a game first, so a lot of DAW-like features are beyond the scope and vision of the game. The Mixes you create are owned by you, but you currently do not have a license to export them for sale. You are free to take videos and share the content on various social media platforms or stream your creations. - Nodes can be moved, rotated, scaled, and snapped to a grid.
- Fully functional undo and redo system.
- Allow sharing mixes on the universe using mod.io.
- Aimed to be friendly to those who are new to music and music creation.
Node creation is super easy! You can click and drag to paint them down and they will automatically connect to their closest nodes.
Adding elements to nodes is as simple as clicking and dragging onto the nodes directly.
The entire node editing system is designed to try and make music creation as easy as it can be.
Every note can be edited after being randomly generated.
Drum patterns can be edited quickly and allows for a ton of variety.
All editing is built with multiple selections in mind.
There are other node types as well that are purely visual to help you make entire musical worlds!
After a mix is made you can save that and upload it to the universe directly in-game to share with the community. Then others can open up what you make, play it and potentially use it for inspiration to start something they create!
Installation Instructions
- Click the green button below to be redirected to UploadHaven.
- Wait 15 seconds, then hit “Free Download.” (Free downloads may be slower — upgrade to UploadHaven Pro for faster speeds.)
- Once downloaded, right-click the .zip file and choose “Extract to Mix Universe.” (You’ll need 7-Zip for this.)
- Open the extracted folder and run the game as administrator.
- Enjoy! 🎮 If you see missing DLL errors, check the _Redist folder inside and install what’s needed.

How do I fix missing DLL errors for Mix Universe (v2025.04.20)?
After extracting Mix Universe (v2025.04.20), navigate to the _Redist or _CommonRedist folder inside the game directory and install DirectX, Vcredist, and any other dependencies included.
What should I do if the downloaded file is corrupted?
The full archive is 2.90 GB — make sure your download completed fully before extracting. Use 7-Zip to extract the files. If you still see a "file corrupted" error, re-download and try again.
Why should I run the game as administrator?
Right-click the game executable and select "Run as Administrator" to avoid save file issues and permission errors. This is especially important on the first launch.

This game requires Version 11. Try running in compatibility mode, install the latest DirectX runtime, or install the All-in-One VC Redist Package.
