NEKOPARA Vol. 4 closes the main saga with a more reflective story, following Kashou as he wrestles with his father’s disapproval and considers what it really means to pursue his craft. A hot-spring getaway brings Chocola, Vanilla, and the rest of the household together before the journey expands to France, where old mentors, new possibilities, and another catgirl complicate the path ahead. The mood remains bright, affectionate, and comedically chaotic, but the stakes feel more personal than in earlier entries.

Gameplay follows the series’ familiar kinetic visual novel format: players read through a fully voiced story, watch expressive character interactions, and enjoy frequent animated CG scenes rather than making branching decisions or managing systems. Kashou’s professional ambitions and family conflict provide the narrative spine, while the catgirls supply plenty of playful banter, romance, and fan service. The uncensored edition retains the mature scenes that accompany the relationships, so it is firmly aimed at adults comfortable with erotic anime content. There is no combat, challenge mode, or traditional progression loop; the appeal comes from spending time with the cast and seeing their long-running relationships reach an emotional turning point.

The polished Live2D-style character animation remains a standout, making even ordinary conversations feel unusually lively for a visual novel. Vol. 4 benefits most from familiarity with the previous NEKOPARA releases, since its emotional payoff relies on knowing Kashou, Shigure, Chocola, Vanilla, Azuki, Coconut, Maple, and Cinnamon beforehand. Its French detour gives the series a welcome change of scenery while keeping the focus on pastries, found family, and romantic comedy. Fans of lighthearted anime visual novels such as Sakura Spirit or the earlier NEKOPARA volumes find a satisfying finale here, while newcomers can enjoy the charm but miss much of the intended closure.
