New Arc rises from a smoky, unequal New World where every promise of progress hides exploitation, prejudice, and political decay. This is a story-driven isometric RPG built around an immigrant’s desperate search for a cure, beginning in the crowded lower decks of a steamship and expanding into the streets, factories, and power struggles of a glittering technopunk metropolis. Its tone is darker than its colorful fantasy-meets-industrial setting initially suggests: wealth, magic, and invention coexist with corruption and hard choices. Your character can become a principled reformer, a ruthless opportunist, or something far messier in between.

Character creation lets you choose a Human or Elf, gender, appearance, and personal background, with social reactions shaped by more than simple dialogue checks. From there, the central loop combines conversation-heavy quests, exploration, companion management, crafting, and party-based tactical combat. Battles use turns and reward careful positioning, ability combinations, consumables, and adapting to enemy threats rather than simply charging ahead. Build paths split between several magical disciplines and technology-focused specialties, allowing an occult caster, supportive sage, armored mechanic, diesel engineer, or electricity-wielding scientist to approach problems in very different ways.

Companions are more than extra bodies in a fight, each bringing personal baggage, loyalty concerns, possible romance, and opportunities to shape—or exploit—their development. The setting’s strongest hook is its collision of classic fantasy races with steam engines, diesel machinery, Tesla-inspired science, and dangerous arcane power, giving the world a distinct identity beyond standard medieval role-playing. Branching decisions promise visible consequences, from altered relationships to public notoriety and wider historical change, so replay value rests on trying different alliances, moral lines, and character builds. Players who enjoy the reactive writing and party tactics of Baldur’s Gate 3, the class variety of Pathfinder, or the grim social tensions of Arcanum should find plenty to like, while newcomers can still engage if they are willing to learn a methodical turn-based system.
