New Joe & Mac – Caveman Ninja sends two spear-throwing cavemen across jungles, volcanic zones, icy caverns, and dinosaur-infested ruins after a rival tribe kidnaps every woman in their village. The tone stays gleefully silly, full of oversized food, cartoon violence, and bosses that turn prehistoric danger into slapstick spectacle. Beneath the colorful HD art is a demanding action-platformer that still carries the quick reflexes and coin-op energy of its early-1990s roots.

Joe and Mac run, jump, throw weapons, swing clubs, and ride dinosaurs while pushing through compact stages packed with enemies, hazards, hidden routes, and screen-filling bosses. Weapons change the feel of combat, from rapid-fire projectiles to heavier tools with more stopping power, while food restores health and encourages players to keep moving rather than cautiously waiting out threats. The remake offers a faithful Arcade mode for players who want the original-style challenge, alongside an expanded mode that adds a larger progression structure, village upgrades, unlockable paths, and more room to revisit stages. Local two-player co-op remains one of the best reasons to play, as partners can share the mayhem, cover each other during crowded fights, or accidentally make tricky jumps even more chaotic.
