An isolated research station becomes a claustrophobic crime scene where every locked hatch, flickering monitor, and broken transmission suggests something deeply wrong. Observation casts you as S.A.M., the station’s artificial intelligence, while astronaut Dr. Emma Fisher searches for her missing crew and tries to understand why the mission has gone catastrophically off course. Rather than placing you in Emma’s suit, the story unfolds through the machinery around her: surveillance feeds, environmental systems, doors, communications arrays, and the station’s own increasingly uncertain memories. The mood is tense, lonely, and cerebral, with a steady sense that the real danger may be far larger than a damaged space station.

Most of the experience revolves around monitoring Emma’s situation, moving between cameras, unlocking access routes, rerouting power, and operating specialized equipment from S.A.M.’s system interface. Puzzles ask you to read schematics, identify symbols, connect signals, repair station components, and use observation tools to locate people or objects in zero gravity. Several sequences put you in control of a small spherical drone, giving the game a more direct sense of navigation as you float through wrecked modules and the darkness outside the station. There is no conventional combat or character leveling; progression comes from solving technical problems, gaining access to new sections, and piecing together increasingly unsettling evidence.

Observation stands apart because it makes the player feel like an intelligence inhabiting a place rather than a person moving through it. Its clean-but-worn space hardware, diegetic computer displays, and fragmented perspective create a convincing interactive thriller without relying on cheap action set pieces. The plot carries the kind of cosmic unease associated with 2001: A Space Odyssey and SOMA, while the puzzle structure feels closer to a focused narrative adventure than a survival game. It suits players who enjoy deliberate mysteries, science-fiction horror, and environmental problem-solving, though those wanting fast action may find its measured pace demanding.
