Oropo’s trip through the World of Twelve turns the colorful Wakfu universe into a brisk, tactical roguelite built around cards, risk, and improvisation. One More Gate: A Wakfu Legend follows the former Eliatrope as he passes through unstable gates into monster-filled regions that rearrange themselves on every attempt. Its cheerful cartoon presentation and eccentric cast keep the mood playful, but the combat can become demanding once enemies begin exploiting weak decks and poor positioning. Familiarity with the Wakfu animated series adds flavor, although the game explains enough of its world to work as a standalone adventure.

Each run revolves around choosing routes across procedurally assembled maps, fighting encounters, taking on optional events, visiting merchants, and deciding how much danger is worth the reward. Battles use a deckbuilding system in which cards consume and manipulate Wakfu, a shifting energy resource whose changing states can strengthen particular actions or enable carefully timed chains. Attacks, defenses, movement tools, and special effects all compete for space in a deck that grows through chest loot, shop purchases, quest rewards, and enemy victories. Between fights, gems, blessings, curses, and card upgrades continually alter the plan, so success depends less on finding one permanent build than adapting to the strange tools each expedition provides.

The strongest hook is the way its Wakfu meter makes familiar card-game turns feel less automatic: watching the flow, arranging cards in the right order, and exploiting an enemy’s opening matters as much as raw damage. Around one hundred cards provide room for focused archetypes and wildly improvised combinations, while random paths and event choices give failed runs useful lessons rather than making them feel identical. Quirky quest-givers, including deliberately absurd figures such as a musclebound grandmother, give the world more personality than the usual anonymous roguelite dungeon crawl. Players who enjoy Slay the Spire-style deck construction but want a brighter setting, more animated charm, and a resource system that rewards timing should find plenty to enjoy, while genre veterans get the most from experimenting with difficult routes and unconventional decks.
