ONE PIECE PIRATE WARRIORS 3 follows Luffy’s rise from Fuschia Village through the Dressrosa arc, revisiting major locations including Alabasta, Enies Lobby, Marineford, Fish-Man Island, and Punk Hazard. The mood is gleefully over-the-top rather than tactical: heroes launch enemies through the air, smash through entire formations, and recreate famous confrontations with suitably explosive flair. Its story mode condenses a huge amount of anime material, so it works best as a celebratory adaptation rather than a complete replacement for the series.

Combat follows the familiar Musou formula, with players capturing territory, protecting allies, defeating commanders, and cutting through enormous crowds on compact, mission-based maps. Every playable character has a distinct moveset built around their Devil Fruit powers, weapons, or fighting style, from Luffy’s stretching attacks and Zoro’s sword flurries to powerful late-series fighters such as Sabo, Doflamingo, and Fujitora. Missions unlock characters, stages, skills, and upgrades, while the Dream Log mode provides a more flexible series of battles with alternate matchups and escalating challenges. Local co-op lets two players clear objectives together, although the PC version does not offer online cooperative play.

What separates it from many licensed anime brawlers is the sheer scale of its battles and the satisfying way each character’s abilities translates into crowd-clearing spectacle. The visual style favors bold cel-shaded models, expressive special attacks, and dramatic cutscenes over realism, preserving the comic-book energy of the source material. Included DLC expands the roster and adds extra costumes and scenarios, giving dedicated fans more reasons to revisit its missions. Fans of Dynasty Warriors, Hyrule Warriors, or One Piece itself find plenty to enjoy, while newcomers should expect accessible button-driven action rather than an open-world pirate adventure.
