Mount Massive Asylum turns a simple investigative break-in into a relentless nightmare of locked wards, blood-soaked corridors, and people who have gone far beyond saving. You play journalist Miles Upshur, following an anonymous lead into a secretive Colorado institution operated by the Murkoff Corporation, only to find that exposing the truth may be less important than escaping alive. Outlast is first-person survival horror with no weapons, no heroic last stand, and very little relief once the doors shut behind you. Its mood is oppressive and vicious, built around panic, helplessness, and the feeling that every dark room has something waiting inside.

Miles survives by running, hiding, crawling through vents, and using a camcorder’s night vision to navigate near-total darkness.
