PARANOID

Patrick Calman’s apartment becomes a claustrophobic battlefield between grief, delusion, and something that may be genuinely supernatural. PARANOID is a first-person psychological horror game built around a man whose parents die violently and whose sister vanishes without explanation, leaving him isolated for more than a decade. A sudden call from a voice that sounds like his missing sister forces Patrick to confront the possibility that she is alive—and that the disturbing neighbor invading his thoughts may be tied to the truth. The mood is relentlessly uneasy, mixing grounded domestic spaces with surreal imagery and a protagonist whose perception cannot always be trusted.

Players navigate Patrick’s fractured reality through exploration, environmental puzzles, and frequent bursts of brutal survival action. Combat uses both improvised melee weapons and firearms, with violent finishing moves that can make use of weapons or the surroundings when enemies close in. Important decisions shape the route forward: Patrick can remain at home without his medication to investigate the neighbor, or seek treatment and pursue his sister’s lead, creating two major narrative paths. The central tension comes from deciding what is real, managing threats, and pushing through locations designed to make every corridor, room, and encounter feel suspect.

Rather than relying solely on slow walking-simulator scares, PARANOID combines psychological horror with a more aggressive action-horror structure. Its strongest idea is the conflict between paranoia and reality: monsters, memories, conspiracies, and ordinary people all occupy the same unstable space, so certainty remains elusive. Realistic visual presentation and an oppressive soundscape support the game’s grim, adult tone, while the branching storyline gives a reason to revisit key choices and compare outcomes. Fans of the combat-forward side of Silent Hill, or players who like the hallucination-driven uncertainty of games such as The Medium, should find plenty to investigate here; newcomers should be ready for intense violence and deliberately uncomfortable subject matter.
