A hostile island and one impossibly tall mountain provide the entire problem: climb it, or remain stranded. PEAK turns cooperative mountaineering into a tense, often hilarious survival challenge where a missed jump, a bad grip, or an ill-timed snack can ruin an otherwise promising ascent. Players take the role of lost scouts pushing through dangerous wilderness toward a summit that feels genuinely earned. Its colorful scout-camp aesthetic keeps the mood playful, but the mountain itself is unforgiving.

Every run revolves around reading the terrain, conserving stamina, and deciding how much risk the group can afford. Climbers scramble up cliffs, negotiate hazardous routes across four distinct biomes, and scavenge food and survival gear that can either save a run or introduce fresh complications. Injuries matter because they reduce climbing ability, so recovery items, energy boosts, ropes, spikes, and stranger tools such as the Anti-Rope become vital resources rather than optional loot. Up to four players can tackle the expedition together through friends-only online co-op, using proximity voice chat to coordinate rescues, warn each other about danger, and laugh when somebody falls; solo play is available for those who prefer a harsher test.

The strongest idea is the daily-changing island layout, which gives PEAK a satisfying arcade-like reason to return without making every attempt feel completely random. Smart teams leave ropes and climbing aids behind to create safer routes for the players following them, adding an organic sense of shared problem-solving that recalls the cooperative chaos of Lethal Company more than a traditional climbing simulator. Campfires, marshmallows, unlockable cosmetics, badges, and ghostly remnants of other attempts add personality around the constant pressure of the climb. PEAK suits groups looking for a compact, repeatable co-op challenge, while patient solo players who enjoy punishing physics-based traversal will find plenty to master.
