A rain-slicked, alternate-history Poland becomes the stage for a hard-edged cyberpunk RPG where every job can turn into a political mess, a stealth operation, or a massacre. You play Marie, a cybernetically enhanced mercenary trying to survive in a post-Soviet city ruled by rival powers, opportunists, and secrets. Peripeteia carries the uneasy atmosphere of classic immersive sims: cramped apartments, industrial ruins, neon-lit streets, and guarded facilities all feel like places where danger and useful information hide in equal measure. Its tone is grim, strange, and deliberately old-school, with room for dark humor amid the conspiracy.

Most missions ask you to reach a target, acquire an item, uncover a lead, or deal with someone who may be more valuable alive than dead. Marie can approach problems through stealth, firearms, exploration, dialogue, scavenging, and RPG-driven character growth, while the first- and third-person perspectives let players choose how they read a situation. Environments reward experimentation rather than obedience; locked entrances, high ledges, alternate passages, and enemy patrols are obstacles to manipulate instead of simple barriers. A standout movement tool lets Marie build improvised climbing routes in many locations, creating vertical shortcuts and escape plans that would be impossible in a more rigid shooter.

Rather than offering a single prescribed solution, Peripeteia leans into consequence, resourcefulness, and the pleasure of finding an overlooked route through a dangerous space. Its Eastern European cyberpunk setting gives it an identity beyond the usual corporate megacities, mixing decayed Soviet architecture with advanced augmentation and factional conflict. Fans of Deus Ex, Thief, System Shock, and other systems-heavy RPG shooters should appreciate its willingness to let plans go wrong and still provide ways forward. Newcomers may find its dense mechanics demanding, but players who miss games built around curiosity, improvisation, and meaningful player choice are likely to find Marie’s world especially rewarding.
