Its atmosphere is deliberately abstract rather than grounded: environments shift between distinct, surreal themes, making the descent feel like a pilgrimage through the remains of existence. The tone is dark, lonely, and mystical, with the player acting less like a conventional soldier and more like a seeker trying to restore a lost spark to the world.

Combat drives the journey, using unusual magical armaments fueled by pieces of the world’s lost creative force. Expect the deliberate movement, projectile-heavy fights, hidden routes, and hostile dungeon spaces associated with classics such as Hexen, rather than a cover-based modern shooter. Progress comes from pushing deeper underground, surviving enemy encounters, and recovering the forces needed to bring light back to the surface.
