Raiders of Blackveil (v0.1.0)

Blackveil turns the familiar top-down action RPG into a tense cooperative loot run where surviving the exit matters as much as winning the fight. You play as a Rebel pushing into dangerous raids, cutting through enemies, grabbing whatever valuables you can carry, and deciding when it is worth risking a deeper run for better rewards. The mood sits between chaotic power fantasy and extraction-game paranoia: a great haul means little unless your squad gets it back alive. Its roguelite structure keeps each expedition focused, fast-moving, and full of decisions about greed, safety, and teamwork.

Combat revolves around a roster of hero-like Rebels with distinct active abilities, personalities, and battlefield jobs, borrowing the readable roles and combo potential of MOBAs. Raids feed into a persistent progression loop: recover gear, currencies, keys, healing supplies, and collectibles, then return to the Liberator to trade, store loot, and improve your loadout before heading out again. Build crafting is the major attraction, with more than 300 perks divided among eight archetypes, including Mage, Assassin, Guardian, Priest, Monk, Druid, Warrior, and Warlock. Perks can reshape a character’s role, while powerful Duo Perks encourage coordinated builds and make higher difficulty runs feel like a test of both planning and execution.

The Liberator gives the action a useful home base rather than leaving progression buried in menus, and its Rebel crew adds some personality between expeditions. What distinguishes Raiders of Blackveil from a standard dungeon crawler is the pressure created by extraction: every item has value, but holding onto it requires judgment and a team capable of escaping together. The broad perk pool should give dedicated groups plenty of build experiments to chase, especially when combining abilities that were not designed around one obvious role. Players who enjoy the co-op intensity of Diablo-style ARPG combat mixed with the risk-reward tension of extraction games are the clearest audience, while solo-minded players may find its squad synergy and evolving Early Access balance less immediately welcoming.
