What begins as a methodical reconnaissance mission gradually turns stranger, pushing through stark concrete corridors, sealed laboratories, and unsettling evidence of what the facility’s scientists attempt to control. Red Matter favors atmospheric tension over jump scares, delivering a polished sci-fi thriller with the deliberate pace of an escape room.

Most of your time goes toward examining rooms, operating futuristic machinery, reading environmental clues, and piecing together the base’s history. Handheld tools let you scan objects, translate information, manipulate systems, and interact with tactile controls that feel purpose-built for VR rather than simply mapped from a traditional adventure game. Puzzles generally ask for observation and logical connections instead of obscure inventory combinations, though some later challenges require careful attention to the details scattered around each area. Combat is not the focus; progression comes from unlocking the next section of the station and revealing another piece of the conspiracy.
