Players dig the roads enemies follow, shaping each stage around the positions of randomly placed defensive towers and the structures they choose to add themselves. Battles unfold through scouting zones, encouraging players to learn enemy traits before committing to riskier encounters, while stronger enemies can reveal more about the larger mystery.
