Its tone is earnest and sandbox-like, letting players either stand in the ranks with a flintlock or direct the larger conflict from a commanding position. Historical flavor comes through in period weapons, uniforms, formations, and scenarios inspired by famous engagements such as Bunker Hill.

Matches revolve around deploying forces, choosing how aggressively to advance, and reacting to enemy movements before a bayonet charge turns a careful line battle into a close-range brawl. Players can take direct first-person control of a soldier, observe the fighting as a spectator, or issue orders to a large army, making each battle playable from several perspectives. Artillery is a major part of the toolkit: cannons, mortars, and puckle guns can break enemy formations, while cavalry adds speed and pressure to otherwise deliberate infantry combat.
