Rogue Lords follows your return from exile as a growing religious order and its Demon Hunters tighten their grip on humanity, leaving you to reclaim lost influence through sabotage, slaughter, and relic hunting. The mood is stylishly macabre rather than relentlessly grim, with storybook visuals, occult imagery, and a cast drawn from classic horror folklore.

Each run begins by choosing three Disciples from figures such as Dracula, Bloody Mary, Frankenstein and his Creature, Lilith, Baron Samedi, and the Headless Horseman. You guide them across branching maps, make choices during events, gather souls, and survive tactical turn-based fights where every character brings distinct attacks, afflictions, defenses, and support tools. Combat rewards smart team construction: one monster may stack bleeding or curses while another exploits those effects for heavier damage, and relics can reshape an entire build. The Devil’s defining power lets you directly alter health values and status effects at crucial moments, effectively bending the battlefield rules, though overusing that intervention can leave your side exposed.

Its best idea is that godlike rule-breaking mechanic, which makes bad turns recoverable without removing the pressure of resource management. Runs also reveal individual backstories and unlock additional skills, relics, and options, giving repeated attempts more purpose than a simple race for better numbers.
