Halls of Valhalla expands the package with local-era multiplayer modes including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Arena, and the gleefully ridiculous Headball, all focused on close-quarters carnage rather than careful shooting.

What makes Rune Classic memorable is its commitment to tangible melee mayhem; enemies are not just health bars, but bodies you can disarm, dismember, and batter with their own fallen comrades. More than 35 single-player and multiplayer maps provide a respectable amount of content, and the included soundtrack preserves the game’s heavy, heroic atmosphere. Its camera, movement, and level design undeniably show their age, so players expecting the fluidity of modern action games may need patience.
