You play the last practitioner of an old magical order, fighting to rebalance a fantasy universe through a series of increasingly demanding pinball encounters. The tone is colorful and energetic rather than simulation-focused, but the action has real tactical pressure once enemy attacks, table hazards, and boss patterns begin overlapping. Runs are built around experimenting with unusual ball effects and finding combinations that turn a well-placed launch into screen-clearing damage.

Each attempt revolves around firing magical balls across one of three distinct tables, striking targets, damaging enemies, triggering devices, and completing objectives for gold. More than 50 ball types alter how shots behave, while over 60 artifacts reshape their interactions, encouraging builds based on chain reactions, status effects, tower activations, or raw impact damage. Archer towers add another layer to table management, as hitting the right triggers sends volleys into enemy groups; certain balls and relics can make those arrows far more dangerous. Mana eventually lets you influence a ball’s trajectory in mid-flight, providing a valuable correction tool that rewards timing and board awareness instead of leaving success entirely to physics.

Runix stands out because its tables function less like traditional score-chasing machines and more like compact combat arenas with changing priorities. Bosses at the end of scenarios require learning specific attacks and weaknesses, so a strong build alone does not replace accurate play. Permanent upgrades and ascension-style difficulty levels give failed runs lasting value, while Infinity mode offers a clean test of whether a favorite setup can survive escalating opposition. Players who enjoy Peglin’s bouncy buildcraft, Vampire Survivors-style synergy hunting, or the tactile chaos of classic pinball should find plenty to like, although veterans of precision pinball will need to embrace its deliberately unpredictable roguelike energy.
