An alien invasion turns Steelport into a warped virtual prison, and the newly elected President of the United States responds with the only strategy that fits the Saints: escalating every absurdity imaginable. Saints Row IV trades much of the series’ street-crime focus for a gleefully ridiculous superhero sandbox, where Overlord Zinyak’s forces, simulated city, and pop-culture gags collide at full volume. The tone is shamelessly silly, but its story still gives returning allies and enemies room to matter amid the chaos. Game of the Century Edition packages the complete, DLC-heavy version of the adventure, including extra missions, costumes, weapons, and bizarre side activities.

Players sprint across rooftops at impossible speed, vault skyscrapers, glide through the skyline, and hurl alien soldiers around with telekinesis, ice blasts, fire attacks, and other unlockable abilities. Missions mix third-person shooting, vehicle chases, virtual-reality challenges, and comedic set pieces, while Steelport’s districts provide clusters of collectibles, activities, enemy strongholds, and power upgrades to clear. Character creation remains a major attraction, letting you shape the President’s appearance, wardrobe, voice, and increasingly ludicrous arsenal. Drop-in, drop-out online co-op supports two players through most of the campaign, making the mayhem especially effective with a friend.

Its best idea is how superpowers transform a familiar open-world city into a playground built around speed and vertical movement rather than simply driving between icons. The simulation premise also lets the campaign jump from affectionate genre parody to outright nonsense without worrying about realism, and it frequently commits to jokes other sandbox games would never attempt. Combat lacks the precision and challenge of a dedicated character-action game, and players wanting a serious crime drama may find the humor exhausting.
