Combat revolves around psychokinesis, letting your chosen hero hurl cars, street signs, rubble, and machinery at enemies before closing in with fast melee strikes. Encounters reward aggression and awareness: weakening an Other with weapon attacks opens opportunities to tear away its weak point or unleash a devastating finishing move, while dodges and environmental objects keep fights energetic. Party members contribute more than extra damage through the SAS system, which temporarily lends their abilities—such as teleportation, invisibility, duplication, elemental attacks, and hyper-speed—to your own moveset. Between missions, conversations and optional Bond Episodes develop companions, improve their support powers, and provide welcome downtime amid the largely linear campaign structure.

The dual-protagonist format is more substantial than a simple character selection, since Yuito and Kasane see major events from different angles and reveal information the other route withholds. Its anime-inspired character designs and wildly imaginative enemy concepts stand apart, even when side quests and some dungeon corridors feel routine. Combat has the satisfying momentum of a character-action game while retaining the gear upgrades, relationship systems, and narrative focus expected from a Japanese RPG.
