Secret Agent HD revisits the cartoonish espionage world of the original Apogee episodes, where the Diabolical Villain Society steals plans for the Red Rock Rover and leaves its facilities packed with armed guards, hostile machines, and devious environmental hazards. The HD treatment keeps the game’s 1990s PC-platformer character intact rather than turning it into a modern action spectacle. Its mood is playful and nostalgic, but the demands on timing and observation can be surprisingly stern.

Players run, jump, climb, dodge, and shoot their way through compact side-scrolling stages while collecting gems, ammunition, and health pickups. Agent 006’s pistol handles enemies, while springy boots and other power-ups expand his movement options and let levels hide rewards in riskier routes. A built-in stage editor with Workshop support also lets committed players design their own obstacle courses and trade creations with the community.
