Seven: Enhanced Edition

Peh is less a prison than a sprawling, volatile playground for a thief who refuses to stay where he is put. Seven: Enhanced Edition blends isometric action RPG design with stealth, parkour, and a strange science-fantasy setting where tribal cultures, advanced machinery, monsters, and imperial oppression collide. You play Teriel, an accomplished burglar forced into a mission on the island, with a sarcastic demonic passenger named Artanak complicating every decision. The tone is adventurous but uneasy, mixing colorful wilderness and ruined settlements with the constant sense that nearly everyone has a secret or a price.

Movement is the game’s strongest hook: Teriel can climb ledges, scale buildings, leap between rooftops, sneak through guarded compounds, and use the vertical space in ways most isometric RPGs never attempt. Quests rarely demand one solution, so a guarded objective can be approached through lockpicking, disguises, conversation, stealth takedowns, hacking, or loud melee and ranged combat. Character growth comes through skills, gear, crafting components, and useful tools that broaden how you infiltrate hostile territory, while enemy camps and security checkpoints make reckless exploration risky. The Enhanced Edition also includes The Drowned Past expansion, shifting part of the adventure beneath the sea as Teriel joins the Enclave in investigating a legendary wreck full of treasure, hazards, and buried history.

Unlike the more rigid encounter structure of many top-down RPGs, Seven gives its island genuine freedom from early on, rewarding curiosity and improvisation over following a single prescribed route. Its camera perspective can make platforming and combat feel less precise than a dedicated third-person stealth game, but the freedom to tackle locations from above, below, or through the front door remains distinctive. Fans of Dishonored’s flexible infiltration, Deus Ex-style problem solving, and classic RPG questing should find plenty to enjoy, especially if they can forgive some rough edges. It suits veterans looking for an unusual stealth RPG far more than players who want polished, straightforward action.
