Sifu is a tightly focused third-person brawler built around a young disciple hunting the five people responsible for destroying their family. Its tone is intense and stylish rather than grim for grimness’ sake, pairing hand-to-hand violence with a sharp, painterly visual identity and a pulsing sense of momentum. Victory never feels automatic: even a minor group of thugs can overwhelm an impatient player.

Combat revolves around reading opponents, parrying blows, dodging high and low attacks, managing structure, and using the environment as a weapon. Its combat carries some of the demanding rhythm of a fighting game, while the level structure and repeated runs recall modern roguelite learning without randomizing the handcrafted stages. Bosses are memorable endurance tests with distinct styles, and the optional arenas mode adds further combat challenges beyond the main revenge tale. Fans of Sekiro’s parry-driven pressure, the Arkham series’ crowd control, or classic kung fu cinema will find plenty to admire, though newcomers should expect a steep learning curve and a game that asks them to earn every win.
