Age is visible in the dated character models, stiff controls, and sometimes unforgiving enemy awareness, yet the original entry already establishes the blend of stealth and ballistics that later Sniper Elite games refine. Its 28-mission campaign offers substantial value for players who enjoy deliberate World War II action, especially when a suppressed rifle and careful positioning feel more satisfying than constant firefights. LAN multiplayer supports up to eight players in deathmatch, team deathmatch, and assassination modes, though finding an active setup is naturally less straightforward today.
