What separates it from more polished modern shooters is the scale of its AI-driven enemy hordes: fights regularly feel like a war against a living, crawling mass rather than a handful of scripted targets. The twelve-level single-player campaign keeps changing its environments enough to prevent the bug-splattering premise from becoming completely one-note, even if objectives remain straightforward by current standards. Players looking for cinematic squad tactics or a deep narrative should temper expectations, since the emphasis stays squarely on solo shooting and spectacle.
