Frogus faces the end of the world with one wildly impractical plan: scale the ruins of a dead planet and ask the heavens to send rain. Stick Tongue is a vertical physics-platforming adventure built around a frog’s elastic tongue, turning every upward move into a precarious grappling-hook stunt. The setting is bleak—humanity has exhausted the Earth’s resources—but the premise stays knowingly absurd, balancing environmental ruin with the image of a tiny amphibian attempting a divine rescue mission. Expect a tense, comedic climb where momentum, aim, and patience matter far more than brute speed.

Most of the challenge comes from firing Frogus’ tongue at surfaces above him, using each successful latch to pull, swing, or launch toward the next stretch of the ascent. A missed shot can waste progress or send him tumbling downward, so the game rewards careful positioning and learning how its physics behave rather than blindly rushing ahead. Checkpoints take different forms depending on the selected difficulty: Beginner mode makes every reached flag a permanent retry point, while Normal mode limits respawns and requires continued progress to secure them. Extreme removes flags entirely for a punishing uninterrupted climb, and No Jump mode strips away the safety net of hopping so that the tongue becomes the only way forward.

Its central hook is simple, but Stick Tongue finds tension in how much consequence it gives every flick of that stretchy grappling tool. The towering, ruined route has the same restart-heavy appeal as games such as Getting Over It, though its frog hero and tongue-based movement give the frustration a more cartoonish identity. Players who enjoy mastering awkward physics, chasing clean climbs, and testing their nerves under stricter rules will get the most out of it. Newcomers can learn through the forgiving checkpoint mode, while platforming veterans have several harsher modes that turn a bizarre pilgrimage into a serious endurance test.
