Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance (v1.5.3599)

Planet-spanning battles turn real-time strategy into a contest of logistics, intelligence, and overwhelming firepower. Set after the devastation of the Infinite War, the campaign follows humanity’s fractured UEF, Aeon, and Cybran forces as they face the Seraphim, an alien power whose quantum technology threatens every remaining world. The tone is grand and serious, built around desperate alliances, giant war machines, and battlefields large enough to make conventional RTS skirmishes feel small. Forged Alliance remains a standalone expansion, but it plays like a refined and expanded version of an already ambitious strategy epic.

Command begins with an Armored Command Unit, which constructs bases, captures territory, researches upgrades, and can personally join the fighting. Players balance Mass and Energy income while producing land armies, air wings, naval fleets, artillery, shields, stealth systems, and towering Experimental units designed to change the course of a war. The signature strategic zoom lets you pull the camera back from individual tanks to a full planetary overview, making it easier to manage several fronts without losing sight of the larger plan. A new campaign puts the Seraphim at center stage, while skirmish and multiplayer matches support four distinct factions with sharply different unit rosters, economic tools, and battlefield roles.

Scale is the defining feature: naval warfare matters, long-range missiles require counters, and a poorly defended expansion can collapse an entire economy. More than a hundred added units give veteran commanders extra ways to rush, turtle, raid, or build toward late-game superweapons, while the Seraphim introduce durable, high-tech options that demand different responses. Matches reward careful macro-management, but the interface and zoom system make the complexity more approachable than it initially appears. Fans of Total Annihilation, Planetary Annihilation, or large-scale Command & Conquer battles find plenty to like here, especially if they want an RTS where strategy matters as much as unit speed.
