Game Overview

A tiny pet fish becomes an absurdly destructive force in a colorful underwater eat-’em-up built around one simple pleasure: swallowing anything smaller than you. Tasty Blue begins with a goldfish escaping the confines of its bowl after too much food turns a harmless appetite into a runaway growth problem. From peaceful aquariums to open ocean habitats, the mood stays playful and cartoonish even as the scale of destruction becomes wildly ridiculous. Later campaigns put players in control of a captive dolphin seeking revenge and a laboratory-made shark whose purpose is far more catastrophic.

Each level revolves around navigating side-scrolling environments, eating creatures and objects, and growing large enough to consume the next tier of prey. Early on, players must avoid bigger predators and hazards, but size quickly flips the power balance, turning dangerous fish, boats, and eventually entire pieces of the environment into food. The goldfish, dolphin, and shark campaigns provide different scenarios and escalation, with the dolphin’s movement built around its aquarium-show background and the shark pushing the concept toward sci-fi excess. Objectives generally ask for a certain size, a route through a level, or the consumption of particular targets, keeping the action more focused than a pure sandbox.

What makes Tasty Blue work is its commitment to escalation: a creature that starts by nibbling flakes can eventually devour predators, machinery, and far larger sights. Its bright 2D art and deliberately silly premise make the game accessible, while later levels add enough hazards and timing demands to keep the rampage from becoming completely mindless. The local co-op option also suits families or friends who want to share a chaotic, low-pressure session, with multiple hungry creatures competing for every available bite. Players who enjoy the growth-driven satisfaction of Katamari Damacy, Feeding Frenzy, or the lighter side of arcade action will find an easygoing, compact adventure that knows exactly how ridiculous it wants to be.
