A lone fortress cannon stands between the planet Taurea and a robotic empire determined to grind it into submission. Taur blends tower defense, real-time strategy, and direct-action shooting into a tense planetary war where every battle affects the larger campaign. You personally operate the Prime Cannon while directing automated defenses against the Imperion’s escalating invasions, from infantry drops and armored pushes to punishing air assaults. The mood is less about leisurely base-building than holding a crumbling line through smart preparation and accurate fire.

Combat revolves around firing the cannon’s primary and secondary weapons at the same time, giving encounters a satisfying hands-on intensity that most tower defense games lack. Secured war zones provide resources for new turrets, droids, aircraft, weapon improvements, and research, while the Forge lets you reshape your arsenal’s damage potential. Positioning matters because the battlefield is fully destructible: structures, vegetation, and units can all be blown apart, opening firing lanes or removing cover at the worst possible moment. Enemy attacks grow in scale and variety, so a defense built to stop tanks may still buckle when aerial units or dropped infantry arrive from another direction.

The campaign’s strongest idea is its strategic map layer, which forces the Taur to commit to only one war zone each day. Leaving other zones unattended risks losing planetary control and forfeiting their resources, turning every deployment into a meaningful choice rather than a disconnected mission selection screen. That persistent pressure makes defeat more consequential, and the eventual Imperion Overlord battle gives the war a clear end goal beyond simply surviving another wave.
