Grand Prix, Exhibition, Time Trial, and Team Adventure provide solo and offline options, while local split-screen supports up to four players and online races accommodate up to twelve. Between events, vehicle parts alter handling traits such as acceleration, defense, and top speed, while cosmetic options let players build a machine that looks suitably ridiculous or stylish.

Its strongest idea is the way cooperation changes the familiar kart-racing formula: a teammate in trouble is an opportunity to score points and gain speed rather than dead weight. Wisps bring the expected chaos of missiles, traps, shields, and boosts, but sharing them makes item use feel more deliberate than in many genre rivals.
