Battles revolve around cards with directional values and four combat symbols—Sword, Magic, Shield, and Bow—that counter and interact with one another. You buy from a pool of more than 100 cards, improve their stats, use emergency potions for temporary boosts, and assemble combos capable of reversing a losing turn. Heroes bring powerful distinct abilities, while relics add passive effects that reshape how a run plays; the challenge comes from adapting your deck to the enemies ahead rather than relying on one unbeatable build. Defeats still earn shards, which fund lasting perks and unlock additional heroes, and frequently used cards eventually gain permanent augmentation choices.

What separates Tetra Tactics from most card roguelikes is its focus on spatial board control instead of familiar attack-and-block arithmetic. A deck can look powerful on paper and still fail if its symbols, placement options, and hero power do not answer an opponent’s setup, giving the game a sharp puzzle-game edge.
