Game Overview

The Axis Unseen is a heavy metal horror indie game created by one of the developers of Skyrim and Fallout. Hunt nightmarish monsters from ancient folklore in a mysterious open world, collecting their enhanced sense powers and discovering elemental arrows. Beware, the hunter is also the hunted. The Axis Unseen is a game all about immersion and discovery. Almost all of the UI exists on your bow and hands. Navigate using landmarks instead of following a minimap. Creatures will track and hunt you and have specific weaknesses. Can you uncover the mysteries of this world and how to defeat the creatures? For people who want a less hardcore experience, the difficulty can be changed at any time and there is even a pacifist mode where you can take pictures of the creatures to unlock things instead. Almost all of the UI in the game exists in the world itself. You have to check your quiver to see how many arrows you have. Tattoos on your hand light up to show your health and active powers. Your bow shows how much energy you have collected from the creatures you have killed and how much sound you are making. The Axis Unseen features original music by Clifford Meyer, previously of the legendary post-metal bands ISIS and Red Sparowes. It is a unique blend of heavy metal and primitive instruments. The music dynamically adjusts to what is going on in the game. Sometimes it is atmospheric, other times it is intense metal.

After extracting The Axis Unseen (v1.11), navigate to the _Redist or _CommonRedist folder inside the game directory and install DirectX, Vcredist, and any other dependencies included.

What should I do if the downloaded file is corrupted?

Why should I run the game as administrator?

Right-click the game executable and select "Run as Administrator" to avoid save file issues and permission errors. This is especially important on the first launch.

How do I update my GPU drivers for this game?

The Axis Unseen (v1.11) requires a 4 GB VRAM GeForce GTX 980/Radeon RX 580 or equivalent. Update your NVIDIA or AMD drivers to the latest version for the best performance.

The game won't launch — what should I try?

My antivirus is blocking the game — is it safe?

Antivirus false positives are common with pre-installed games. Temporarily pause your antivirus during extraction to prevent it from quarantining game files. You can re-enable it after the extraction completes.
