Game Overview

Violence, velocity, and full-body VR movement define the fight for survival on Damag, a sun-scorched prison planet ready to erupt into rebellion. You play an operative sent into this hostile wasteland to remove a notorious warlord, restore a fragile order, and find a way off-world before the convicts and rival gangs tear everything apart. The tone is loud, brutal, and gleefully excessive: firefights are built around explosive weapons, reckless stunts, and the kind of momentum that makes standing still feel like a mistake.

Combat centers on a broad arsenal of more than ten weapons, with guns carried on your back and grabbed or exchanged quickly through the grappling-hook system. Rather than relying on conventional analog-stick locomotion, movement asks you to use your hands and body to leap, climb surfaces, slide through danger, run along walls, and grind rails across the desert ruins. The grappling hook doubles as a traversal tool and a way to keep the action fluid when enemies close in, encouraging improvised attacks instead of cautious cover shooting. A reverse trike adds another dimension to the action, letting you tear across Damag’s open, desolate spaces at speed while moving between confrontations.

The Burst stands out because it treats VR locomotion as the main attraction rather than a compromise, combining parkour, vehicle driving, and arena-shooter aggression into one physical experience. Enemy factions give battles a distinct flavor, from the savage Shelldogs to fire-happy Boomboys, so encounters are not simply a parade of identical targets. Its high-intensity movement can be demanding, making it best suited to players with solid VR comfort and enough room to move safely. Fans of fast shooters such as DOOM, Gravity Rush-style traversal, or VR games that reward physical play over passive aiming should find plenty to enjoy here.

After extracting The Burst, navigate to the _Redist or _CommonRedist folder inside the game directory and install DirectX, Vcredist, and any other dependencies included.

What should I do if the downloaded file is corrupted?

The full archive is 14.66 GB — make sure your download completed fully before extracting. Use 7-Zip to extract the files. If you still see a "file corrupted" error, re-download and try again.

Why should I run the game as administrator?

Right-click the game executable and select "Run as Administrator" to avoid save file issues and permission errors. This is especially important on the first launch.

How do I update my GPU drivers for this game?

The Burst requires a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, equivalent or higher or equivalent. Update your NVIDIA or AMD drivers to the latest version for the best performance.

The game won't launch — what should I try?

Try running in compatibility mode, install the latest DirectX runtime, or install the All-in-One VC Redist Package.

My antivirus is blocking the game — is it safe?

Antivirus false positives are common with pre-installed games. Temporarily pause your antivirus during extraction to prevent it from quarantining game files. You can re-enable it after the extraction completes.
