Most of the campaign alternates between dialogue scenes, weekly planning, training, and rhythm-based live shows. You assign idols to activities and build their Vocal, Dance, and Visual strengths through short timing-focused lessons, then use those stats to improve the group’s odds in auditions, festivals, and concerts. Onstage, the player selects a lineup, song, and outfits before matching prompts to the music, managing appeal opportunities and aiming for stronger crowd reactions. Successful events increase the unit’s fanbase and unlock the momentum needed to reach the central Starlit Season event, while individual idol growth encourages experimenting with different formations rather than relying on one favorite performer.

What separates STARLIT SEASON from many idol games is its crossover roster: performers associated with 765 Production, Cinderella Girls, Million Live!, and Shiny Colors share one original storyline and can appear in lavish combined stages. It is less about punishing rhythm-game precision than hardcore titles such as DJMAX and more about the satisfaction of nurturing a team over dozens of story chapters.
