The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut follows the monster hunter’s son as he investigates a conflict between humans, beasts, and the inventions that are making everything worse. His constant companion is Lady Katarina, a sharp-tongued ghost with her own combat role and a welcome talent for puncturing the story’s melodrama. The mood balances grim laboratories, ruined wilderness, and bloodthirsty creatures with dry humor rather than playing its gothic setting completely straight.

Combat follows the familiar click-to-kill ARPG rhythm, but character building has enough depth to reward experimentation. Six classes cover distinct styles, from gun-and-blade hunters to engineers, spellcasters, and shadow-focused specialists, each with its own large skill tree and equipment priorities. Enemies arrive in dense packs, encouraging players to combine active skills, crowd control, and a Rage resource that powers special modifiers for key abilities. Lady Katarina can be customized with her own skills and behavior, while the long campaign also sends players into side quests, boss fights, loot hunting, and the management of their headquarters’ defenses.

Final Cut’s biggest advantage is scale: it combines the original trilogy into one continuous adventure, delivering a lengthy campaign rather than three disconnected short releases. Borgovia feels more distinctive than the average fantasy loot grinder because its monster mythology shares space with strange industrial science, trench-coated detectives, and darkly comic dialogue. After the story, an expanded endgame offers open-ended missions for testing finished builds and chasing better gear. Players who enjoy Diablo-style action but want a denser narrative, an unusual Eastern European gothic atmosphere, and a companion with real personality should find plenty to like; genre veterans will get the most from its layered class systems, though newcomers can still enjoy it on the lower difficulties.
