A cursed Carpathian town provides the backdrop for a harsh co-op horror survival adventure built around family guilt and local folklore. Set decades after a failed human sacrifice condemns Svetlograd and its surrounding wilderness, The Legacy sends four grown siblings back to confront the evil their grandfather could not stop. Its atmosphere leans into wet autumn forests, abandoned streets, occult rituals, and the constant feeling that something supernatural is watching from beyond the firelight. The result is less a scripted haunted-house ride than an open-world struggle to survive long enough to push back the curse.

Survival demands attention beyond simply shooting monsters. Players choose from characters with different strengths, manage food, water, stamina, injuries, illness, temperature, and supernatural afflictions, then scavenge materials to establish a shelter or more permanent base. Rain leaves characters soaked and vulnerable to cold, so fires, indoor cover, dry clothing, and sensible travel plans matter—especially after dark. Hunting, fishing, gathering fruit and mushrooms, cooking meals, brewing restorative concoctions, and crafting equipment fill the downtime between dangerous expeditions. Combat pits basic weapons and improvised gear against creatures with individual patterns, while deeper exploration can uncover stronger supplies, military-controlled areas, hidden bunkers, and the ingredients needed for rituals.

Up to four people can tackle Svetlograd together, with voice and text chat supporting the kind of resource-sharing and panicked rescues that make survival horror memorable; solo play remains available for a more tense, isolated pace. Randomized enemy placement and loot keep repeated runs from becoming too predictable, while badge progression gives long-term players another objective beyond merely reaching the next safe fire. Ukrainian mythology and the Western Ukrainian setting give the world a personality that separates it from the usual zombie-filled survival sandbox. Fans of DayZ-style survival needs, cooperative crafting, and the folklore-driven unease of games such as The Forest should find plenty to like, although players who dislike inventory management or slow, methodical preparation may find its pace demanding.
