Players spend daylight hours copying the routines of AI workers, moving carefully and performing believable tasks so the Matriarch cannot identify them as imposters. The real objective is to reach the underground, dig through the earth, and locate a route to the exit before suspicion or nightfall brings punishment. Playing as the Matriarch flips the experience into a deduction hunt: watch for unnatural movement, strange timing, and workers who seem a little too purposeful, then decide who deserves the sacrifice device. Match settings allow groups to alter maps, round duration, and Matriarch selection rules, while public and private servers support both chaotic pick-up sessions and coordinated games with friends.

The strongest idea here is the reversal of the usual impostor formula: nobody is trying to complete a secret murder objective, because every non-Matriarch player is simply trying to convincingly become part of the background. That makes successful play less about fast reflexes than reading a room, selling a performance, and knowing when to take a risk underground. Unlockable elimination tools, including guillotines, pyres, crosses, and snakes, add theatrical variety to the Matriarch’s role without changing the central mind game.
