The Occultist follows Alan Rebels, a veteran paranormal investigator searching for his missing father on an island haunted by the legacy of brutal rituals and human experimentation. Rather than leaning on cheap shocks alone, it aims for a slow, unnerving kind of fear built around isolation, uncertain reality, and the sense that the dead are always nearby. Its tone sits firmly in psychological survival horror, with a personal mystery at the center of all the occult horror.

Alan investigates the island from a first-person perspective, searching derelict locations for clues while piecing together what happened to the cult and his father. Direct combat is not the answer: hostile spirits and supernatural forces demand stealth, careful movement, and smart use of the environment to survive. His essential tool is a mystical pendulum with four different functions, allowing him to interact with objects, uncover hidden details, and alter situations that would otherwise block his path.
