The Spell Brigade (v1.0.2.16659 & ALL DLC)

Arcane chaos takes center stage in a co-op survivors-like built for groups who enjoy turning a screen full of enemies into an even bigger screen full of projectiles. Up to four wizards join forces against swarming, strange-looking dark creatures, combining the escalating power curve of Vampire Survivors-style runs with the accidental sabotage of a party game. The mood stays playful even when the battlefield becomes unreadable: magical explosions, enemy hordes, and friendly-fire disasters are all part of the intended spectacle. Rather than making teammates untouchable, The Spell Brigade makes their questionable aim another danger to survive.

Each run revolves around moving through monster-packed arenas, automatically or actively unleashing spells, gathering upgrades, and completing changing team objectives while the pressure steadily rises. Spells can be improved, infused with elemental effects, and altered through augmentations, allowing a modest starting attack to develop into a wildly destructive chain of interactions. Relics, enchantments, quests, and squad size further shape a build, so a four-player session does not simply feel like four separate solo runs happening at once. Friendly fire means careless casting can knock allies out, but revive tokens turn death into a tactical opportunity by letting players blast themselves or their companions back into the fight.

Its best idea is treating co-op friction as a feature instead of an inconvenience. Many survivors-likes make players stand beside one another while separate builds do their work; here, overlapping spell effects, rescue attempts, and shared objectives demand constant awareness, communication, and a willingness to laugh when the plan detonates. The colorful fantasy presentation and enormous enemy counts keep the action approachable, while the growing web of modifiers gives repeated runs room for experimentation. Fans of Vampire Survivors, Brotato, or the manic teamwork of Magicka should find plenty to like, especially with a regular group, though solo-minded players may miss the unpredictable energy that makes the game stand out.
