Renovating an apartment becomes a frantic team sport when four players are racing a clock, hauling furniture, and trying not to paint the wrong wall. Tools Up! turns ordinary DIY jobs into a colorful couch co-op scramble set across a towering building full of increasingly strange assignments. Every floor presents another home to restore according to a plan, but loose teamwork quickly turns a tidy contract into a catastrophe of spilled paint, misplaced sofas, and abandoned tools. The tone stays playful and accessible, even when the deadlines become genuinely demanding.

Each level begins with a blueprint showing the required layout, colors, flooring, and furnishings. Players grab supplies, roll paint across walls, lay carpet or tiles, shift bulky objects, and pass equipment between rooms while adapting to the apartment’s shape and hazards. One person carries the plan and controls the shared camera view, creating a subtle leadership role that can either keep everyone organized or cause plenty of arguments. Jobs are graded on speed and accuracy, encouraging groups to replay stages for better scores and learn efficient routes, while escalating environments introduce complications that disrupt even a well-drilled crew.

Its best feature is how clearly every mistake is communicated: a badly placed couch, an unpainted corner, or a teammate carrying the only brush immediately becomes everyone’s problem. The bright, toy-like presentation and simple controls make it easy for non-gamers to join, yet later stages demand the same communication, role-sharing, and controlled chaos found in Overcooked. Rather than relying on cooking or combat, it finds comedy in home improvement, giving the party-game formula a distinct practical twist. Tools Up! suits families, casual groups, and experienced co-op players looking for a lighter, less punishing alternative to Overcooked, especially when everyone is gathered around one screen.
