Racers choose colourful vehicles, drift through bends, launch over ramps, and cover as much useful road as possible while hunting for their team’s painted racing line. Painted surfaces act as boost lanes, so the central loop is not simply following the ideal route but actively creating it, protecting it from rivals, and deciding whether to paint safe corners or gamble on alternate paths. Team races support three-versus-three competition, with online play for up to six players and local split-screen for four, while AI opponents can fill empty slots. Solo players can tackle a campaign structure, custom races, time trials, and challenge-focused events that gradually demand cleaner driving and smarter use of paint.

The constantly changing track surface is Trailblazers’ real hook, making it closer to Splatoon’s territory control mixed with the approachable drifting of arcade kart racers than a conventional lap-based racer. Every course becomes a visual record of the battle, covered in competing colours as players claim corners, shortcuts, and straights. It suits groups who want a fresh couch multiplayer racer and online teams looking for more cooperation than Mario Kart usually offers.
