The mood is tense without becoming action-heavy, focusing on the pressure of escaping one lethal chamber after another. Rather than fighting hordes of creatures, success comes from understanding the hazards beneath your feet.

Each stage presents a self-contained obstacle course where players carve routes through dirt and manipulate whatever equipment is left nearby. Picks break through soil, pumps shift liquids, pipes redirect flow, and other tools interact with the environment in ways that must be tested and combined. Acid pools, loose terrain, gravity, and destructible materials turn seemingly obvious routes into traps, so blindly digging is often enough to ruin a solution.
