Tom’s apartment and neighborhood turn ordinary loneliness into a tactile puzzle adventure, framing depression and negative self-talk with unusual tenderness rather than spectacle. Unwording follows a man whose pessimism literally distorts the objects around him into hostile words and self-defeating messages. A small yellow bird disrupting his routine becomes the catalyst for a quiet emotional shift, pushing Tom to reconsider the meanings he assigns to his life. The narrative uses no spoken dialogue, relying on animation, environmental detail, puzzle answers, and Trevor Kowalski’s gentle evolving score to communicate what Tom cannot say aloud.
