Upaon: A Snake’s Journey combines the familiar movement rules of Snake with the crate-pushing logic and spatial planning associated with Sokoban, creating rooms where survival matters as much as reaching the exit. Its mood is calm rather than frantic, supported by clean presentation and an original score from Vicent Colavita. The central twist is wonderfully simple: fruit makes the snake longer, and extra length can either unlock a route or permanently ruin it.

Players guide the snake across single-screen puzzle chambers, collecting fruit, navigating tight corridors, and arranging their ever-expanding body without colliding with themselves. Every move changes the available space, so success comes from planning several turns ahead instead of reacting at speed. Rather than demanding one predetermined solution, many rooms allow alternate approaches, letting players experiment with different eating orders and routes until the board makes sense.
