VenusBlood GAIA International frames its war around Theofrad, ruler of the magical city Energeia, whose discovery of Ether places him against a holy empire determined to erase it. The result is a dark, adult anime strategy RPG with a siege-defense focus rather than a straightforward conquest campaign.
