The mood balances bright, fantastical exploration with real tension: beauty lies above the waves, while hostile creatures and valuable secrets wait below them. Saving the world means locating endangered spirits before the monsters of the Deep erase them for good.

Survival starts with gathering resources on land and under the sea, then turning those materials into tools, weapons, food, and increasingly capable equipment. Sailing and wave-riding make travel feel central rather than incidental, with distant biomes encouraging expeditions beyond the safety of a home shore. Combat takes place both on islands and underwater, where dangerous monsters guard treasure and spirit-related objectives. Rescued spirits expand your options by granting crafting knowledge and magical powers, while scattered Elder Spirit fragments lead to larger biome-focused goals. The adventure supports solo play, but servers accommodate up to 10 players who can divide responsibilities between construction, resource hunting, exploration, and fighting.

Its most appealing feature is the way settlement building ties directly into progression instead of serving as decoration alone. Customizable seaside villages act as workshops and refuges, and attracting spirits to them unlocks stronger crafting possibilities as those inhabitants lend supernatural energy to the settlement. Nera’s world design also promises more character than a standard procedurally focused survival sandbox, using fallen colossi, drowned ruins, and vertical coral landscapes to make each voyage feel like a destination.
