Its tone moves easily from eerie conspiracy and wartime danger to playful encounters with famous eras and eccentric inventors. One moment you are decoding clues in a ruined temple; the next, you are surviving a battlefield, attending a lively cultural event, or setting foot on the Moon.

Progress comes through exploring each period, gathering clues, and using Samuel, your talking wristwatch companion, to manage equipment and navigate the shifting chronology. Puzzles encourage experimentation with objects from wildly different centuries, letting you combine tools, weapons, and environmental interactions in ways that rarely feel like simple key-and-lock tasks. Full-body VR movement supports climbing, swimming, jumping gaps, riding ziplines, and manipulating machinery, while combat adds firearms, ammunition varieties, and enemies that demand more than blind firing. The revised Samuel interface, Echo Diviner, and Echo Vault systems also make it easier to track useful items without removing the satisfaction of searching carefully.
