Evenor is a fractured fantasy realm where an encroaching force called the Gloom twists its wilds, ruins, and creatures into dangerous hunting grounds. Wayfinder is a colorful action RPG built around fast third-person combat, collectible heroes, and the satisfaction of repeatedly pushing into dangerous expeditions for better gear. Its tone lands somewhere between a comic-book fantasy adventure and a loot-driven dungeon crawler: the stakes are serious, but its oversized weapons, expressive character designs, and stylized environments keep it from becoming relentlessly grim. Rather than locking players into one custom-made protagonist, it lets them command distinct Wayfinders with their own personalities, weapons, and combat specialties.

Combat revolves around dodging, positioning, weapon attacks, active abilities, and building synergies between a hero’s kit and the equipment they carry. Players travel through open regions, take on story quests, hunt bosses, clear instanced dungeons, and gather crafting materials to improve weapons, armor, and character power. The Gloom Dagger system is the major twist, allowing players to apply mutators to expeditions that alter enemy types, objectives, bosses, rewards, and environmental conditions; it makes grinding for a particular resource feel more directed than in many loot RPGs. Up to three players can tackle content together in drop-in co-op, although the game also supports solo play for anyone who prefers to learn fights and progress at their own pace.

What separates Wayfinder from a standard Diablo-style loot chase is its mixture of authored characters and controllable dungeon modifiers. Choosing a sword-and-shield brawler, a ranged gunner, or a magic-focused fighter meaningfully changes the rhythm of combat, while weapon choices and upgrades add another layer of build experimentation. There is also a substantial collection angle, from armor appearances and weapons to apartment furnishings, giving completionists reasons to keep exploring beyond the main campaign. Fans of Warframe, Darksiders, and cooperative boss-hunting games should find plenty to like, especially if they enjoy a polished, approachable action system rather than punishing Soulslike precision.
